The new Viking 50 Billfish (50 BF) is the biggest and most capable model yet in Viking’s Billfish lineup, building on the proven 38 and 46 platforms. At 51' 8" overall with a 17' 1" beam, it shares the new 50 Series hull with the 50 Convertible, 50 Open and 50 Sport Coupe/Tower, but gets its own mechanical layout, engine placement and weight distribution, all tuned for owner-operator use.
Powered by 1,200 MHP MAN V8 diesels, the 50 Billfish is marketed as an offshore powerhouse with strong speed, agility and range, while fuel capacity of 1,055 gallons and Viking’s latest hull design underline its long-legged fishing mission.
As with the rest of the Billfish series, it targets fish-focused owners who want a sporty, easily maintained boat that still delivers “convertible-level” comfort and Viking-grade fit, finish and systems. A big part of the 50 Billfish story is usable space. A 170-square-foot cockpit - approaching the working length of Viking’s 58 and 64 - gives you room for serious tournament setups, with large in-deck fish boxes, a generous tackle cabinet, drink box, plus freezer and refrigerated storage, all served by a deep mezzanine that also allows a port-side lounge.

What Fishing Features Are On The 50 Billfish?
Anglers are going to like how unapologetically fishing-first the 50 Billfish is. It’s built as the largest Billfish yet, aimed squarely at fish-focused owner-operators who want a sporty boat that’s easy to run and maintain but still has real Viking comfort. The star of the show is the 170-square-foot cockpit - huge for a 50 - with cavernous fish boxes, a generous tackle cabinet, drink box, plus freezer and refrigerated storage, all served by a deep mezzanine that also allows a port-side lounge. That space and storage let you spread out the crew, rig efficiently and carry serious bait and meat home without feeling cramped.
Up on the bridge, the inset-style layout and walkaround center-console helm give the captain 360° visibility making the 50 Billfish a tournament-proven setup that makes it easier to watch the spread, back down on fish and slide into tight slips.
Add in the Billfish-series perks; a day-boat style, air-conditionable command deck just steps from the cockpit, comfortable staterooms and the option to turn a lower-deck space into a dedicated rod-and-tackle center, and you’ve got a 50-footer that lets you fish hard all day, then actually rest up to do it again tomorrow.
What Are The 50 Billfish Interior Accommodations Like?
Inside, the Viking 50 Billfish feels like a true day-boat/sportfish hybrid: simple, bright and very usable. A fixed aft bulkhead with a centerline door leads from the cockpit into a “day-boat style” salon/command deck with a port-side lounge, starboard raised dinette with rod storage underneath, and a forward split galley.
The galley can be outfitted with up to three Sub-Zero refrigerator/freezer units, plus plenty of cabinet storage and counter space, so you’ve got real cold-storage capacity without giving up the open feel. Large windows, high-end finishes and full climate control give the interior a clean, airy vibe that works just as well for a quick lunch between bites as it does for an evening cocktail run.
Below, the 50 BF carries a two-stateroom, two-head layout with an extra “flex” area. The forward master has a walkaround queen berth and its own ensuite head with shower, while the port guest cabin offers upper/lower bunks and access to the second head, which also serves as the day head.
That open area off the companionway can be left as a utility/rigging zone, fitted with additional bunks, or built out as a dedicated rod-and-tackle center depending on how you use the boat.
Like the rest of the Billfish series, finishes lean toward high-gloss teak joinery, Amtico sole, good lighting and smart storage, giving you genuinely comfortable overnight accommodations while keeping the whole package easy to clean and very owner-operator friendly.
