Viking Yachts 82 Enclosed Bridge

SUMMARY

The new Viking 82 EB is the enclosed-bridge version of Viking’s latest 82 Convertible platform, developed as the next step up from the hugely successful Viking 80 and introduced in 2024. It stretches just over 82 feet with a broad, 21-plus-foot beam, giving it the volume of a small motoryacht while retaining the true tournament sportfish performance that Viking Yachts have perfected.

Viking uses CFD-optimized hull design, advanced composite construction and its Advanced Viking Propulsion System to deliver impressive efficiency and a top speed in the low-40-knot range when paired with optional 2,635-MHP MTU 16V2000 M96L engines. A huge, purpose-built cockpit with mezzanine seating, multiple refrigerated and freezer boxes, in-sole fishboxes and a transom livewell underlines that this is a serious tournament boat as much as it is a luxury yacht.

As one of the largest and most successful Viking dealers in North America, SI Yachts is uniquely stituated near the Viking factory to give you a hands-on approach during your new yacht build. We can also take your current boat in on trade and have a mobile service team for extraordinary customer service. What Fishing Features Will You Love On the 82EB?

The 82 Enclosed Bridge shares the same tournament-ready cockpit and mezzanine layout as the new 82 Convertible, so all the fishing muscle is identical, just with the comfort of the EB upstairs which is perfect for fishing in the Northeast. You get just under 230 square feet of cockpit, with a transom door and lift gate, a transom fishbox/livewell, and full-length in-deck boxes with split lids to port and starboard for serious fish and bait capacity.

The cockpit sole can also house a livewell, and there’s a laminated aluminum plate in the deck for mounting a fighting chair or rocket launcher. An observation mezzanine with aft-facing lounges hides a tackle cabinet, big bait freezer, and a refrigerated step box, plus extra storage under the seats—giving crew a shaded command post without cluttering the working deck.

Built-in Rupp flush-mount rod holders, under-gunwale storage for gaffs and gear, freshwater and seawater washdowns, and a centerline hatch engineered for a Seakeeper 40 gyro round out the cockpit hardware.

Behind the scenes, the 82 EB is set up to carry the kind of systems you’d expect on a top-tier tournament boat. The design allows for omnidirectional sonar, crushed-ice machines, tuna-tube bait systems, multiple watermakers, and extensive refrigerated storage boxes that used to be custom installs but are now standard or factory options.

Inside, there’s a dedicated rod and tackle locker near the crew area, so gear storage and rigging stay organized and out of the traffic flow.

Up top, the enclosed bridge itself is a fishing tool: a climate-controlled command center with a forward control station sized for up to five large multifunction displays and an aft docking/wing station overlooking the cockpit, giving the captain clear sightlines to the spread in comfort, even on long runs in choppy seas.

What Are The Accommodations Like On the 82EB?

Inside the new Viking 82 Enclosed Bridge you’re basically getting a small luxury apartment that happens to be wrapped in a world-class sportfish hull. The interior is finished in Viking’s signature horizontal-grain walnut with optional ebony inlays, with a wide-open salon that flows into a dinette and modern, fully equipped galley.

In the EB version, there’s also an interior staircase in the salon that takes you up to the enclosed bridge, so the “second salon”/helm area is part of the living space, not an exposed flybridge you have to climb to in bad weather. The enclosed bridge itself is climate-controlled and set up like a lounge, with a raised L-shaped settee, walnut table, refrigerator, HDTV and plenty of storage, so the on-watch crew can stay comfortable while everyone else hangs out or sleeps below.

A chilled-water air-conditioning system (about 10 tons, zoned with individual controls in the salon and each stateroom) keeps the boat cool or warm as needed, which matters a lot when you’re many hours or days from the dock.

Below, the 82 EB carries the same five-stateroom, six-head layout as the 82 Convertible, built specifically for long-range travel. There’s a full-beam master with a walk-around king, lounge/sofa, big closets, vanity, HDTV, and an ensuite head with twin sinks and a large walk-in shower, plus multiple guest cabins (each with its own head and shower) and a dedicated crew stateroom.

That means everyone on board can get real rest and rotate watches without fighting over a single shared head, which is huge on multi-day tournaments or long runs to the canyons or islands. A proper gourmet galley with premium appliances and lots of cold storage lets you provision heavily and eat well instead of living on sandwiches.

Add in the rod-and-tackle locker and a built-in laundry center—which keep gear organized and clothes clean—and you’ve got a boat that’s set up to live aboard for extended trips.

Put simply, the 82 EB’s interior isn’t just pretty; it’s laid out so owners and crew can stay offshore longer, sleep better, stay drier and more comfortable, and show up on the grounds fresh instead of beat up.
