The broad and breezy teak-lined flybridge benefits from a floating hard-top with a built-in sunroof sitting above the central part of the bridge for the ultimate balance of light and shade. Cool down in the aft-deck, where a dining sofa and three chairs surround a table, or get active at the full-beam, timber-clad hydraulic swim platform, sturdy enough to host a jet-tender. Sliding glass doors, panoramic side windows and cutaway gunwales work together to brighten a free-flowing main-deck salon with an interior treatment by Achille Salvagni that exudes a calm and refreshing vibe. A palette full of pale pastels, white-washed surfaces and curved furnishings contrast with more elegant touches like high-gloss timber surrounds, heavy lacquered finishes and metallic accents. A side-sofa and an L-shaped lounge sofa wrap around a designer coffee table, while ahead of this there’s a formal dining table for up to eight hungry guests. At the front of the main-deck there’s a partially enclosed galley for shielded food prep, as well as a starboard helm with two piloting seats, a glass dash, Active Trim Control, a Penta joystick, Garmin MFD screens, power-assisted steering and options like a Seakeeper stabilizer switch.
You will really feel the sheer size of the Fly 78 down on the lower-deck, where four spacious cabins for eight overnight passengers all come complete with generous hull glazing and their own en-suite facilities. An amidship VIP double and twin cabin are the first to greet guests who make their way down to this plush deck, while occupying the front section of the hull there’s another VIP double and a private crew quarters for three. The full-beam owner’s stateroom is located aft and features a king-sized bed, a full-length sofa, a work-desk or chest of drawers, a walk-in closet and a large marble-lined bathroom with two sinks, a bidet and a wet-room shower.
Expect top speeds to hit the 33-knot mark thanks to a triple-set of 1000HP Volvo Penta IPS 1350 pod-drive diesel motors. The Fly 78 is designed to cruise at 26 knots for a range of up to 351 nautical miles, but you will get even more out of the 1321-gallon fuel tank by running this beautiful watercraft at the 17-knot dial, which expands the range to vast 420 nautical miles.
