The Pershing 6X is a 62-foot sports cruiser yacht that was launched by the Ferretti-owned Italian boat-building firm Pershing in 2021. A taut and sculpted exterior in shimmering silver looks as aerodynamic and aggressive as a fighter jet from profile, with sharp curves designed for the sort of high-octane performance that eats up waves with relish. Marketed as a “pocket superyacht”, this crowd-pleasing vessel proves that you can combine a vibrant, at-sea entertainment hub with the sort of speed and agility you would otherwise expect from a racing yacht. An immediate hit with critics, the 6X bagged the title for “Best Exterior Design” in its class at the 2021 World Yacht Trophies held in Cannes.
It’s all about unapologetic sunbathing out on the foredeck, where instead of a sofa Pershing Boats have gone for a pair of sun-kissed forward sunpads in durable Mambo Sailmaker fabric for up to six guests. In the teak-lined aft-cockpit, meanwhile, there is room for triple-width transom sunpad to stern, and a timber-lined cocktail table that is surrounded by a pair of sofas. There is also room out here for a starboard side wet-bar console with an optional grill and icemaker, to keep the mixed drinks and barbecued burgers coming all night long. Side steps lead down to a hydraulic bathing platform with a lift-system for water toys and a transom garage that can accommodate a Williams Turbojet 325 tender.
An impressively modern main-deck salon features carbon-fiber accents, dark parquet flooring, Mastrotto leather furnishings, acres of glazing and a retractable sunroof to open this space up to the elements. There is an L-shaped sofa to port with cabinetry to starboard, while a bespoke coffee table with twin-toned timber represents the social heart of this space. The helm features a couple of Poltrona Frau leather piloting chairs, a Simrad COMMAND system with touch-screen panels, Xenta electro-hydraulic steering, a DPS System, thruster controls and a gaming-style armrest joystick.
Lower-deck rooms benefit from dramatic mullioned hull glazing with oversized rectangular portholes, plush carpeting, horizontal LED mood-lighting, greyscale tones throughout and effortlessly cool Zimmer+Rohde wall panels with geometric bronze-effect highlights. There are three en-suite cabins on this level for up to six overnight guests, with a VIP double to the bow, a starboard twin bedroom and an amidship owner’s room with a queen-sized bed, bedside cabinets, a full-height closet and a semi-open bathroom with a mosaic-lined shower room. You will also discover a galley on this level that comes with all the modern conveniences needed for life at sea like chilled storage, a stainless-steel sink and a four-zone hob.
A pair of 1550MHP MAN V12 diesel engines with Top System surface drives offer full-throttle speeds of up to an incredible 48 knots, with consistent cruising at 42 knots allowing for a range of around 280 nautical miles. A proprietary deep-V hull is the work of Pershing legend Fulvio de Simoni and the Ferretti team, and provides the sort of agility and balance needed to cut up tight figures-of-eight out on the ocean’s surface.
