V-55SY POWER & TOP SPEEDS
Under the V55 Sport Yacht's sculpted lines is the same Michael Peters Yacht Design Stepped-V Ventilated Tunnel (SVVT) hull that made the V-55 center-console a standout. SVVT reduces drag and boosts efficiency and stability, yielding a fast, composed ride offshore. The V-55SY pairs that hull with four Mercury 600-hp V-12 outboards, a package chosen for torque, smoothness and joystick maneuverability. If you’ve run a V12-powered Valhalla before, you know the drill: crisp acceleration, fast planing, and precise maneuvering.
At wide open throttle, the Valhalla V55 Sport Yacht can reach speeds of up to 60mph when outfitted with quad Mercury 600HPs. The real value, however, is the comfortable ride created by the SVVT hull which makes it feel like you're going 35mph when you're really going 50! The in-stock V55 is equipped with the quad Mercury V12's in Cold Fusion White.
Outdoor Living, Perfected: Balconies, Sunbathing, and Shade
One of the V55SY’s signature features is powered fold-down balconies on both sides of the cockpit. Each creates roughly 25 square feet of extra deck, transforming the aft end into a water-level terrace and is ideal for swimming, launching toys or just opening the boat to the sea. Aft-deck furniture can be tailored three ways: a wrap-around lounge with table and L-shaped summer kitchen; a full-width aft galley with a U-shaped dinette; or a dinette plus an outdoor bar with stools. A large telescoping powered shade hides in the hardtop, and a drop-down cockpit TV is available for movie night at anchor.
Bow Access and Side-Deck Design
Valhalla uses an asymmetrical side-deck layout to carve out more interior volume without sacrificing safe passage to the bow. The raised starboard walkway (three steps up) lets crew handle lines forward, while the flush port walkway leads to a three-person sunpad and wraparound lounge with table. Low-profile rails add security without cluttering the look. It’s a clever solution that makes the boat feel bigger inside and easier to move around outside. The bow lounge area makes a wonderful place to enjoy cocktails at sunset while anchored.
Enclosed Pilothouse With Extraordinary Visibility
The Valhalla V-55SY’s four-sided fiberglass pilothouse is all about versatility. Slide the powered port and starboard side doors open, roll down the powered aft window, and pop open the powered sunroof, and now the helm and salon breathe like a convertible. Close everything up, and you’ve got a climate-controlled command center with three large multifunction displays on a clean, all-glass helm and a one-piece windshield for a crystal-clear view perfect for inclement weather. Depending on the cockpit layout chosen, the pilothouse seating can be a full-width raised lounge and table or a raised bench to starboard with the summer-kitchen package; the bar arrangement continues the counter indoors for a seamless entertaining zone. If you're a seasonal cruiser that likes to head South for the Winter, the V-55SY allows you to both enjoy the crisp autumn air of fall cruising, while also closing up for the night while sleeping on board.
Real Overnight Yachting: Two Cabin Suites
Below deck, the V-55 SY feels truly feels like a luxury express cruiser and, if you know anything about Viking, the accommodations are never overlooked. The forward master stateroom features a walk-around queen berth, ensuite head with a separate shower. A guest head (also with a separate shower) sits just forward of the amidships guest stateroom with queen berth. Opposite the feature-packed galley, an L-shaped dinette converts to an extra berth when needed. Want more sleeping capacity? There’s an optional amidships layout that Viking offers with a double to starboard and a single to port. In short, two couples (plus kids or friends) can cruise comfortably without any makeshift beds.
What Electronics Are On Board?
From the factory you can spec a Garmin or Simrad electronics suite (each package includes a 2-kW transducer, with a 3-kW upgrade available). Entertainment and navigation packages can be tailored through Atlantic Marine Electronics, and a 170-GPD watermaker is on the options list for extended stays away from the marina. Inside, choose from light or dark interior veneers or go classic with high-gloss walnut.
