Founded in 1958 by Gianfranco Cecchi and Giuliano Pecchia, San Lorenzo Yachts has always been a boutique yachtbuilder, each boat completely customized to the owner’s individual specifications. Production is limited to ensure first-rate quality only available from shipwrights. In the early years, San Lorenzo’s build process included wood and steel transitioning to GRP Fiberglass alongside the launch of the ever-popular SL 57 in 1985. The Yachtbuilder continued to grow exponentially expanding into the 30 meter market with the new one-hundred foot SL 100, a first for the Iconic Italian brand.

Ever-growing, San Lorenzo re-established under a new management. Massimo Perotti the former G.D. of Azimut-Benetti is now at the brand’s helm. In the spirit of growth, San Lorenzo S.P.A. opened their Superyacht manufacturing facility in Viareggio, Italy. Sanlorenzo S.P.A. continued its’ expansion through investors thus opening a second SuperYacht Division in La Spezia, Italy. The facility is responsible for engineering and building yachts up to 64 meters (210 ft) in length with the utilization of high-tech construction methods and a variety of materials: resin infused fiberglass, aluminum, and steel.

San Lorenzo Yachts notably SL range from 78-118 feet; these are a Raised Pilothouse style planing yacht that are well balanced, streamlined, and elegant. They also offer the SD range from 96-126 feet; these are a semi-displacement design with classic yacht lines and long range capacity. Additionally, San Lorenzo offers the SX range from 76-86 feet; this is a crossover design offering the performance of a planing hull and the long range of an explorer yacht.

Sanlorenzo’s Superyacht Division is deemed “Made to Measure” and like their branding states, Sanlorenzo’s focus to the customization of a tailor-made Yacht is undeniable. Superyachts are available in Alloy or Steel Range where an owner can build the multi level Megayacht that they design from 44m (144 ft.) to 70 m (229 ft.) or an Explorer style Megayacht up to 47 m (154 ft.). The Alloy Range offers Full Aluminum Fast Displacement while the Steel Range offers voluminous accommodations because of the overall size.
